Every dog needs a place to lay their head.  Dog beds are the obvious solution.  If you look at the selection available you can certainly feel overwhelmed.  It is the rare pet owner that will give their dog a simple blanket out in the garage.  Most owners want their pet to cuddle up in a comfortable bed just like their own.

Other beds will help elevate your pet so they are up off the floor, allowing better air circulation; especially useful for keeping very furry animals cooler.  You can even get a puncture proof water bed for your dog; particularly appropriate to an animal with hip or back issues. Shapes abound, from beds that look like the executive leather chair in your office to a chaise lounge, and fabric selections are endless.

For pets that get chilled easily you might want to consider adding a heating pad designed for dogs.  Warmers are either electrically powered or can be preheated in the microwave and then inserted into a kennel or crate. Some beds even provide massage for your pet as they lie upon it.  

Picking the right dog bed for your dog is important.  You want to find something large enough and comfortable that your dog likes.  The truth is that most dogs are fairly accommodating, but if your dog has special needs it is comforting to know that there are plenty of options.
